Consultations with the interested public
All interested citizens can easily find out which consultations are ongoing and get involved
Consultations with the interested public in adopting laws and other regulations and acts are an integral part of a modern democratic process of public policy management, as well as one of the key steps in fostering openness, responsibility and effectiveness of the work of the public authorities. The main purpose of the consultations and engagement of all those concerned is to collect information about their interests, views, suggestions and interests concerning a specific public policy.
This increases understanding and endorsement of the policy objectives, but also detects previously undetected weaknesses and negative impacts of the public policy that need to be corrected as soon as possible. The Government consults with the interested public to make informed policy decisions based on a wide range of experiences and different approaches, and takes into account the impact of the suggestions on different sectors of the society. For members of the interested public, consultations represent a chance to use their knowledge, experience and expertise to have an impact on public policies on behalf of the groups and interests that they represent.
