Pursuant to the Act on the Organisation and Scope of Ministries and other Central State Administration Bodies (Official Gazette 93/16, 104/16 and 116/18), inspectional tasks in the fields of mining, energy and pressure equipment are carried out by the State Inspectorate

Mining inspection

The mining inspection carries out supervision of the application of laws and regulations governing:
  •  exploration and exploitation of mineral raw materials
  •  occupational safety, technical norms, safety of people and property during mining operations of exploration and exploitation of mineral raw materials
  •  construction of mining facilities and plants
  •  use of mining facilities and plants until the end of exploitation, and remediation by exploring and exploiting mineral raw materials of the devastated area
  •  use of mining machinery, facilities, plants, equipment, tools, devices and installations
  •  fulfilment of the requirements prescribed for workers employed in certain mining-related tasks
  •  fire protection measures during underground mining operations
  •  obligations with regard to mining plans and mining measurements
  •  treatment of mineral raw materials during construction activities
  •  organisation of the rescue team and fire-fighting unit
  •  inquiries of cases of death, group injury and extraordinary events that caused significant material damage during mining operations
  •  business activities of mining economic operators registered for exploration and/or exploitation of mineral raw materials.

Energy inspection

The energy inspection carries out supervision of the application of laws and regulations in the fields of electricity, heating and gas, energy efficiency, exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and geothermal water for energy purposes and the permanent disposal of carbon dioxide in geological structures, which govern:
  • fulfilment of the requirements for performing energy activities
  • fulfilment of the obligations of energy undertakings and energy consumers during designing, construction, putting into use, use, operation and maintenance of energy facilities, installations, lines, network connections, installations and equipment 
  • organisation of the maintenance of installations and structures in accordance with the approved/confirmed technical/project documentation, technical and safety regulations
  • fulfilment of the obligations of residential building managers during maintenance of common parts of residential buildings
  • maintenance of the parameters of energy quality and energy supply reliability
  • compliance with the technical requirements for products and conformity assessment, as well as with the requirements for general safety of products and equipment in production facilities
  • energy efficiency
  • fulfilment of the requirements prescribed for workers employed in certain energy-related tasks
  • obligations of investors and oil mining operators during performance of oil mining operations, construction of oil mining facilities and installations, and remediation of the area devastated by oil mining operations
  • implementation of occupational safety measures during performance of oil mining operations.

Pressure equipment inspection

The pressure equipment inspection carries out supervision of the application of regulations governing:
  • use of pressure equipment and mobile pressure equipment
  •  fulfilment of the requirements prescribed for workers employed in certain tasks related to pressure equipment
  •  fulfilment of the requirements prescribed for legal entities and natural persons performing activities in the field of pressure equipment and mobile pressure equipment
  •  technical requirements and conformity assessment for pressure equipment and mobile pressure equipment in use.
